Cozy, seamless integration.

Rembrandt's wife has always made a good, docile piece - it fit really easily with many things, but this one is probably by far the best.
Warm & cozy feeling on a cold winter day.
Long live art!!!!

Do not take as directed: the worst we are with rules, the better we are with art?

Geez, it's been a month since I've written anything here! Well, between work, trips to ER & to NYC, my usual movies & library on Saturday afternoons, le temps s'ecoule' tres vite!
eh bien!
The very visual explanation of how to take the pills made me think of a friend of mine, a very, very talented artist from Buenos Aires, Hernan (whom i've invited to come to my place & consider it his artistic residence for some time...) - his work is below.
Rules, art, smart people having their galleries shut down (precisely because they're smart????)
Biutiful it is not!

Moveable feast

Have been playing with this idea for a while & finally did it: chunky, moving necklace. Same painting cut in 3 parts.
Yes, you really can't go against your nature: while big things might scare some other people (how about T shirts, huh? that beats me!), they look right on me, so we'll keep doing this!

Other coincidential women pairing

Bingo!!! Edward Hopper meets an old lady (from a photograph bought from my own suppliers in Rio de Janeiro).
Love it when things fit into place like this, seamlessly...

Animating the everyday

Of course one of my real, seriously-unserious New Year Resolutions, is to keep 'animating the everyday'. And here's one of my most recent pieces, a naughty little thing, just the way we like them... Title? "Vertical & horizontal" (reference to the fact that 'horizontale' is a slang term for a prostitute in French). Women by Rembrandt & Kees Van Dongen.

New Year Resolution (not mine)

I'm not sure that i believe "Being green" tops the list of New Year's Resolutions this year (although i've seen this info more than once).
What is not going away is the tired & true (?) relationship/love, always high on the list.
I meant to post my lamp couple long time ago, but now the timing was just right.
So, the Carabiniere/Liquore Galliano lamp has been with me for years (bought in 2004 in Washington D.C. before moving to Chicago), but i found the lady by chance recently.
And look what a beautiful couple!!!!
Women rule, as usual: the lady lamp is much brighter than the guy!
My New Year Resolution? No to matchmaking & coupling, but yes to matching objects for my house!

Amused (& in love) with unknown

It always amazes me that no matter how much time you spend pouring over Art History books, obscure archives, etc., you still find something you've never seen before.
Without searching, here's an image of a less pretty creature by Bronzino. Needless to say, it made my morning!
