Play it safe when you are scared?

Same (& safe) old or nothing at all? What is better: to wear a string of pearls or, when in doubt, just leave your neck (and fingers, and ears) nacked/unadorned?
After attending many design events in London this past week I productively spent 1 hour on a train working on classifying people according to their 'relationship' with jewelry (yuk - 'jewelry-wearing patterns/habits' - yuk!).
Funny how I never thought about it: even though many women are quite unsure about what to wear and how to wear it (accessories, I mean), still there is practically no single woman who would give up jewelry completely.
An interesting exercise, this one: label people & then give them even more choices to get lost in, or on the other hand get a better idea about whom you are after.

Does recycling feel natural to you?

2,5 months without posting anything didn't mean that I worked less. Quite the opposite, actually. I did work - not in the sense of producing jewelry but rather spending more time observing & absorbing things. 6 weeks in Rio de Janeiro, 3 weeks in Buenos Aires to finish off my South American cycle with some healthy 'cultural vampirism', as I call it: seeing what's going on in the design scene there.
Now I am confronted with London & with a dilemma of a moral kind of sorts: do I jump on that big, huge bandwagon or stay true to what I feel is more me & more fun to do?
For the time being I may have found a compromise, but it's never a good way to go. Soon you'll see the results.
Another obscure post, this one. Basically just meant to let whoever is interested know that I am back to the keyboard, as well as to my design lab. But after such a long absence manual feels decidedly more natural than digital to me.
As to recycling...oh well, here we go again
