Ok, above are 3 buildings I always liked, 2 of which I even visited some 3 years ago. The middle photo is of another Chicago Landmark - Brewster Building - that had Charlie Chaplin as one of its famous tenants.
I agree: these are not 'classically' beautiful buildings. They are not purist, harmonious. But they are ooooh so American!
